Get Involved
We lead the lab from inside San Quentin. Donate, volunteer, or partner to support what we cannot touch from inside.
San Quentin SkunkWorks is proving that real criminal justice reform is possible when we invest in people. There are many ways to be part of this work. Whether you donate, volunteer, partner, or sponsor a project, your involvement helps us reimagine what the justice system can be.
Donate
At San Quentin SkunkWorks, we believe transformation happens when people are given a vision of what is possible and opportunities to see it through. Every day, incarcerated residents at San Quentin Rehabilitation Center are reimagining what rehabilitation looks like through leadership, creativity, and community building. From world-class murals that bring beauty and hope to institutional spaces, to Leadership Foundry that develops peer leaders, to Transformative Recreation events built to rebuild trust between staff and residents, we are proving that meaningful change is possible when we invest in people.
Your donation makes all of this real.
When you make a donation to San Quentin SkunkWorks, you are investing in a proven model of incarcerated-led rehabilitation that centers humanity and creates lasting change from the inside out. Together, we are building an unprecedented rehabilitation center that transforms lives and creates a blueprint for criminal justice reform nationwide.

Partner With Us
San Quentin SkunkWorks is building a national model for rehabilitation through culture change, and we cannot do it alone. We are seeking partners who share our vision of transforming correctional environments through art, leadership, and community. Whether you are an artist, cultural institution, foundation, corporation, or individual with expertise to share, there are meaningful ways to collaborate.
From sponsoring transformative art projects like Space for Change, to providing resources for leadership development programs, to offering technical support or strategic guidance, your partnership directly impacts incarcerated residents and helps demonstrate what is possible when we invest in human potential. Together, we are creating a blueprint that correctional facilities nationwide can follow.

Volunteer
Volunteers come inside to back what we run. If you can facilitate a workshop, coordinate an event, coach a skill, or document the work in photographs and writing, there is a seat for you at First Fridays and everything around them.
You would join the outside professionals who keep the work moving: clearing gates, carrying supplies, showing up on the yard.
If you are interested in volunteering, contact us at hello@sanquentinskunkworks.org to learn about current opportunities and our volunteer orientation process.
